Franklin Templeton Throws Support Behind Clarity Act

Franklin Templeton, a US-based asset management firm overseeing $1.7 trillion in assets, has thrown its support behind the Clarity Act, a major cryptocurrency legislation. BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager with over $15 trillion in assets under management, as well as Fidelity and Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, have also backed the bill. New York Attorney General Letitia James opposes the legislation, arguing it would weaken state and local law enforcement efforts. The path forward remains uncertain this year, with notable critics including Senators Elizabeth Warren, Chris Murphy, and Chris Van Hollen.
