Fortitude Mining secures 9,000 Antminer Z15 Pro units in $31.5M Zcash mining bet

Fortitude Mining, a subsidiary of Digital Currency Group, purchased 9,000 Antminer Z15 Pro units from Bitmain for $31.5 million, negotiating each unit down to $3,499 from a list price of $4,999, for a total savings of $13.5 million. The company operates a 12 MW facility in Grand Island, Nebraska, energized on July 28, 2026, which has reduced its direct cash mining costs by approximately 43%, dropping from around $70 per ZEC to roughly $40 per ZEC. As of May 31, 2026, Fortitude was mining at an annualized rate of 157,000 ZEC, translating to approximately 366 ZEC per day and generating between $168,000 and $183,000 in daily revenue before costs, with ZEC trading between $460 and $500. Founded in January 2025, the company plans to merge with HeartSciences, a Nasdaq-listed medical device company trading under ticker HSCS, to list on Nasdaq under the ticker TUDE in the second half of 2026.
