Congressman Thomas Massie plans to introduce legislation that would withhold federal funding from agencies deploying Flock cameras, automated license plate readers. At least 24 cases have been identified where officers allegedly used the system to stalk current or former romantic partners, leading to charges in Milwaukee and the arrest of an internal affairs detective. The LAPD, Monroe County, Indiana, and Leon County, Florida have suspended or terminated their contracts with the company. The firm apologized for calling anti-surveillance activists « terrorists ».
