According to Blockaid’s report published on June 29, 2026, Ethereum and Solana concentrated the majority of cryptocurrency hacking losses during the first half of 2026. Ethereum remains a prime target due to its high-value applications, including restaking platforms, stablecoins and decentralized exchanges. Solana recorded nearly equivalent losses to Ethereum, a sharp increase from the roughly $127 million stolen on the network in 2025. More than 98% of Solana’s losses came from compromised keys, with incidents involving Drift Protocol and Step Finance linked to North Korea-linked cyber groups. The year 2025 saw $2.58 billion lost in total, including the $1.5 billion stolen from Bybit in the first quarter.
