Ethereum developers are reviewing 66 proposals as part of the Hegotá upgrade, which aims to introduce more native privacy for applications on the network. FOCIL is currently the only proposal scheduled for inclusion, alongside Frame Transactions (EIP-8141), Keyed Nonces (EIP-8250), and Recent Roots for Frame Transactions (EIP-8272), all intended to unlock native privacy. The goal is to allow privacy applications to work without relying on intermediaries. Developers aim to ship Hegotá next year, while the Glamsterdam upgrade, expected in the second half of 2026, should first improve scalability and harden the layer-1 of the network.
