Donald Trump Jr.’s venture capital firm, 1789 Capital, is leading a $1 billion funding round that values Polymarket at $21 billion, a 40% increase from its roughly $15 billion valuation earlier this year. The firm is contributing approximately $300 million in this round, bringing its total investment in Polymarket to around $500 million. Polymarket faces legal action in Baltimore, where the city accuses the platform of offering unlicensed sports betting disguised as event contracts. Abroad, more than 30 countries, including South Korea, France, Germany, and Australia, have blocked or restricted access to the platform. Despite these legal troubles, Polymarket also secured a $600 million investment from Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange.
