Deutsche Telekom will operate a validator for SphereNet, the network developed by Sphere Labs to process payments for AI agents. Coinbase’s x402 protocol has already processed 109.6 million transactions and approximately $15 million in adjusted volume since May 2025. Deutsche Telekom, which had 273 million mobile customers across more than 50 countries at the end of 2025, will bring its blockchain infrastructure experience to this project. SphereNet integrates identity checks, sanctions screening, and jurisdictional rules directly into transaction execution to enable near-instant settlements. The mainnet is planned for 2027.
