DeepSeek, the Chinese AI lab that surprised Silicon Valley last year with its cost-efficient models, has reportedly invested approximately $20.8 million in Unitree Robotics ahead of the robotics company’s planned IPO on the Shanghai STAR Market. The offering could raise around 4.2 billion yuan, roughly $610 million, and value Unitree at up to 50 billion yuan, or approximately $7 billion. The reported stake would represent roughly 3.4% of the targeted $610 million raise. Both companies are based in Hangzhou and their founders met with President Xi Jinping in February 2025. However, the investment remains unconfirmed through regulatory filings or official statements from either company.
