Changpeng Zhao, co-founder of Binance, has retired the public wallet he was using due to unsolicited token transfers becoming a recurring problem. Anyone can send compatible assets to a public blockchain address without the owner’s consent, resulting in spam tokens, dust, and unwanted meme coins accumulating in publicly identifiable wallets. CZ initially dismissed the need for a feature to hide these assets but changed his mind after receiving criticism, acknowledging that the existing « Ignore coins » function in Trust Wallet is buried five clicks deep. Trust Wallet plans to update its interface to make this privacy feature more accessible to users.
