Cryptocurrency exchange Binance.US plans to file for a Designated Contract Market (DCM) license with the CFTC in August to offer prediction markets, as part of its broader comeback strategy alongside lower trading fees and expansion beyond spot trading. Decentralized prediction market volume hit a record $46 billion in June and approached $50 billion in July, generating approximately $200 million in annual revenue. Robinhood generated $156 million in revenue from prediction markets in Q2, surpassing its combined equities and crypto segments, with a record $13.9 billion in event contracts volume.
