Cramer: This market has eerie parallels with 2018. Here’s what investors should do

Jim Cramer, host of Mad Money on CNBC, warned on Friday that several factors are echoing the difficult period of fall 2018. He noted parallels between the two periods: stocks had posted strong gains during the second year of President Donald Trump’s term, oil prices and Treasury yields had risen, and inflation remained above the Federal Reserve’s target. In the fourth quarter of 2018, the S&P 500 fell approximately 20 % from late September through Christmas Eve. Today, Cramer is flagging similar risks with oil near $100 per barrel, the 10-year Treasury yield approaching 5 %, and persistent inflation, increasing pressure on new Fed Chair Kevin Warsh.
