Cosmos Labs confirmed a security incident affecting the Cosmos EVM module and advised chains to request validators halt block production. Three networks disclosed impact: MANTRA, KiiChain, and TAC. KiiChain saw an attacker drain 148,326,583.15 KII through 18 repeated attempts on August 22 before the chain halted at block 9,355,723. MANTRA suspended its network as a precaution, with only two managed wallets affected and no user balances impacted, later resuming block production after deploying a fix in version 8.4.0. The vulnerability lies in the shared Cosmos EVM module rather than chain-specific code.
