CoinGecko has migrated its centralized exchange Trust Score from CER.live to CORE3, a risk intelligence tool built by blockchain security firm Hacken. This update, applied to 166 centralized exchanges since September 2, 2026, reveals that 48% of evaluated platforms cannot provide any proof of reserves, penetration testing, or bug bounty programs. Only 5.2% of exchanges met all three fundamental security criteria. The new CORE3 framework evaluates exchanges across three pillars: security at 50%, solvency at 30%, and transparency at 20%, acknowledging that solid technical security does not guarantee a platform’s financial health.
