Coinbase has partnered with payments platform Moov to allow US community banks and credit unions to offer stablecoin services. Coinbase’s custody and stablecoin payment tools will be integrated into Moov’s existing platform for financial institutions. Under an FDIC proposed rule from April 2026, stablecoin holders would receive no pass-through deposit insurance on issuer reserve deposits. The effects of stablecoins on bank deposits depend on demand and where issuers hold their reserves. Moov has a customer base of more than 1,000 community banks and credit unions, but the number of institutions that have actually deployed the service remains undisclosed.
