Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, will become Chelsea FC’s principal partner from the 2026/27 season, placing its branding on the front of the Men’s, Women’s, and Academy shirts. The deal is reportedly worth around 45 million pounds per year, well below Chelsea’s initial asking price of 60 to 65 million. This ends a four-season run of Chelsea playing with a blank shirt front since the end of Three’s contract in 2022/23. Circle reported 73.3 billion dollars in USDC in circulation at the end of the second quarter, up 19% year over year. The company, listed since the second quarter of 2025, is preparing the public mainnet launch of its Arc blockchain on September 16, with BlackRock, Visa and Mastercard among the founding validators.
