Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, has become Chelsea FC’s principal partner for the 2026/27 season, marking a historic first in the Premier League with a stablecoin as the main sponsor on a club’s jersey. The USDC logo will appear for the first time on Sunday at Stamford Bridge during the match against Brighton. The contract amount has not been disclosed, but Chelsea was initially seeking 65 million pounds per year (approximately 88 million dollars) for this spot, which had remained vacant for three years. Circle, which has held an electronic money institution license from the UK FCA since 2016, becomes the first regulated crypto financial actor to sponsor the front of a Premier League jersey. The company, listed on Wall Street since June 2025, aims to promote digital dollar usage to the global football audience of English football.
