Charles Schwab announced on August 27, 2026 the addition of Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX) and Chainlink (LINK) to its Schwab Crypto platform, bringing the total number of available cryptocurrencies to five alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum. The American brokerage, which manages over 13 trillion dollars in assets for approximately 40 million active brokerage accounts, applies transaction fees of 0.75 %, presented as among the lowest in the sector. This extension allows Charles Schwab to catch up with competitors such as Fidelity, which has offered Solana since October 2025, and E*Trade, a Morgan Stanley subsidiary launched in July 2026 with spot trading on BTC, ETH and SOL. The offering, however, does not include staking services, even though SOL and AVAX offer annual yields of 6 to 7 % through this mechanism, representing a missed opportunity for clients. The service remains inaccessible in several countries outside the United States as well as in the U.S. states of New York and Louisiana.
