Changpeng Zhao, former CEO of Binance, predicted during the 2026 Bitcoin Conference in Hong Kong that Bitcoin would reach $1 million, and well before the 25 years sometimes mentioned. He also stated that Bitcoin would become more important than gold, whose market capitalization is currently about ten times that of Bitcoin. Bitcoin closed below $79,000 on August 28, far from its October 2025 peak above $126,000, but CryptoQuant anticipates a new bull phase with its Bull Score index rising from 30 to 80. Zhao, who served a four-month sentence in the US for a money-laundering charge before receiving a presidential pardon from Donald Trump in October 2025, also specified that strategic crypto allocations would include Bitcoin, Ethereum and BNB.
