Bybit intercepted over 30,000 suspicious withdrawal attempts in the first half of 2026, preventing more than $700 million in potential losses for its users. This massive response comes after the record-breaking $1.46 billion hack suffered in February 2025, attributed to the Lazarus Group linked to North Korea. The platform deployed AI-assisted on-chain surveillance systems, processing over 100,000 security alerts and protecting nearly 20,000 users. Legally, Bybit obtained a preliminary injunction freezing assets across at least 28 platforms and recovered approximately $48.4 million. This strategy combines technological reinforcement and legal action against Pyongyang, an approach still rare in the cryptocurrency sector.
