Blockstream has launched Blockstream Swaps, a service enabling fund transfers between Bitcoin mainchain, Lightning Network, and Liquid Network through trustless atomic swaps. The service, based on HTLC (Hash Time-Locked Contracts), is currently in beta as of August 10, 2026. The launch comes one week after Boltz, the main competing service, suspended operations on August 3, 2026 following AI-assisted automated attacks. Blockstream had previously deployed Lightning-Liquid atomic swaps in December 2025, laying the technical groundwork for this broader product. Beta access is available by request, with no specific timeline announced for general availability.
