Riot Platforms stock surged 24% in after-hours trading following the announcement of a 20-year contract with Anthropic for 191 megawatts of computing capacity at its Rockdale, Texas campus. Anthropic will pay $9.1 billion over 20 years for this infrastructure, enough power to supply roughly 143,000 homes. Riot mined 1,587 BTC in the most recent quarter at a cost of $49,912 per coin, bringing its holdings to 11,380 BTC valued at approximately $728 million. The company sold 3,778 BTC in Q1 2026, while public Bitcoin miners collectively sold more than 32,000 BTC during the same period to fund AI infrastructure investments.
