Bitcoin gained just 0.7% in the hour after the release of weak US jobs data, touching a local high of $65,300. US non-farm payrolls unexpectedly fell by roughly 23,000 in July, missing the 83,000 forecast by a wide margin. Traders cut the odds of a Federal Reserve rate hike in September to 44%, down from much higher levels previously. Revisions to May and June payrolls deepened the slowdown, with a combined 103,000 positions weaker than initially reported. Annual wage growth slowed to 3.2%, the weakest since May 2021.
