Bernie Sanders Vows Legislation to ‘Stop Flock and AI Mass Surveillance’

Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders announced he would introduce legislation targeting Flock Safety, a company specializing in AI-powered surveillance cameras. According to Sanders, Flock has installed over 120,000 cameras scanning 20 billion vehicles monthly across more than 6,000 American communities. The latest models can cross-reference images with databases containing phone numbers, family information and court records to identify individuals. A bipartisan coalition is forming against these practices, with Representative Thomas Massie planning a bill to cut federal funding from agencies using these devices, and municipalities like Los Angeles and Monroe County, Indiana canceling their contracts with the company.
