AUSTRAC has suspended the registration of crypto ATM operator Cryptolink for 3 months, taking all 96 of its cryptocurrency ATMs offline across Australia. The regulator cited the company’s failure to meet basic anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing reporting obligations. The action follows an earlier compliance intervention in October 2025, when AUSTRAC identified late reporting of large cash transactions and weaknesses in risk assessments, issuing a $56,340 fine. AUSTRAC CEO Brendan Thomas stated the company was deemed too high risk to continue operating. The suspension is part of broader global regulatory scrutiny of crypto ATMs, with similar actions taken in the US, Canada, and the UK.
