Arthur Hayes takes CEO role at Flop Labs ahead of Q4 airdrop

Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, announced his appointment as CEO of Flop Labs, an artificial intelligence inference protocol. The former BitMEX CEO, who stepped down in 2020, plans a massive airdrop of FLOP tokens in Q4 2026, before the network’s genesis block launches in early 2027. Flop Labs is developing a network enabling AI agents to pay for computing and decentralized memory services using the native FLOP token. BitMEX announced in July 2026 that it would shut down its exchange on September 23.
