Archer Aviation is set to acquire three Boeing-related entities: Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu. Wisk Aero, a wholly owned Boeing subsidiary since 2023, develops autonomous electric air taxi technology. SkyGrid, which Wisk acquired in June 2025, focuses on autonomous flight management systems. Insitu is Boeing’s drone unit, acquired in 2008, and builds unmanned aerial systems for defense and commercial applications. As part of the arrangement, Boeing will invest in Archer and retain access to Wisk’s autonomous flight technology. The deal, with potential value estimates around $500 million, stems from a legal settlement reached in August 2023 between Archer, Wisk, and Boeing.
