Anthropic is lowering classifier overhead fees for Claude Code users. These fees previously added 15% to 28% on top of token costs during autonomous or safety-checked sessions. Developers using autonomous workflows and multi-step coding pipelines were the most affected by these hidden surcharges. The reduction, effective August 7, 2026, targets power users who generate the highest bills. The exact new percentage has not been disclosed by Anthropic.
