Anthropic has pledged more than $100 billion to Amazon Web Services over the next decade, a cloud computing commitment that ranks among the biggest enterprise technology contracts in history. In return, the creator of the Claude AI will get access to enhanced compute capacity of up to 5 gigawatts, powered by Amazon’s custom Trainium2, Trainium4 chips and Graviton processors. Anthropic’s annualized revenue run rate surpassed $65 billion by the end of July, up from roughly $9 billion at the start of the year. Amazon made an immediate $5 billion investment on April 20, adding to the previous $8 billion stake, with potentially an additional $20 billion contingent on performance milestones. The IPO, with the prospectus expected after Labor Day, is targeted for late September or October.
