The October 10 crash saw roughly $19 billion in positions liquidated within 24 hours, with most being long positions and mostly retail traders. On-chain perpetual futures volumes collapsed for five consecutive months, falling from $1.36 trillion to under $700 billion. Thirty-eight percent of altcoins now trade near all-time lows, and the median altcoin is down approximately 79 percent from its cycle peak. Hyperliquid stands out with a market cap above $12 billion and $650 million in annual revenue, while tokenized equity and commodity perpetual futures reached $1.32 trillion in volume during the first five months of 2026, compared to $104 billion for all of 2025.
