Israeli startup AIR Security emerged from stealth on September 1 with a $50 million funding round led by Sequoia Capital and Greenoaks, with participation from Swish Ventures, Netz and several angel investors. The company has built a real-time firewall for AI agents capable of detecting active agents within an enterprise, continuously vetting their skills and plugins, and blocking suspicious behavior. Its research uncovered over 17,800 public AI add-ons linked to untrusted external sources, accounting for approximately 6.7 million installations, along with cases of brand impersonation targeting companies such as Anthropic and OpenAI. The company employs around 40 people and has hired Ryan Knisley, formerly Chief Information Security Officer at Disney and Costco, as Chief Strategy Officer.
