AI isn’t eating software after all — and the sector’s ‘epic’ rally could run through October

Software stocks have been weighed down for a year by fears that AI would replace subscription software. Investors feared that companies with employees more productive through AI would cut staff and purchase fewer software licenses, also known as seats. The rise of vibe coding was also seen as making custom software development radically cheaper and easier. However, a strong week of software earnings has eased these fears on Wall Street. The sector’s rally could continue through October according to analysts.
