Standard Chartered, one of the 29 banks designated « too big to fail » by the Financial Stability Board, has launched a service delivering real Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) to institutional clients from the United Arab Emirates. These clients hold actual crypto assets, not derivatives that merely track the price. The Emirates arm of the bank is the only global systemically important bank (G-SIB) to offer this deliverable spot service. It earns revenue from spreads, settlement fees and custody of these digital assets.
