Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has received a Major Payment Institution (MPI) license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), awarded to its local entity Gemini Digital Payments Singapore. The license authorizes the company to provide digital payment token services and cross-border money transfers without the transaction-volume limits imposed on standard payment institutions. Gemini has served customers in Singapore since 2020, offering spot crypto trading, digital asset custody, and over-the-counter services. The full license follows an in-principle approval granted in October 2024.
