Share

On September 9, Solana will undergo a major network upgrade. The maximum transaction size will increase from 1,232 to 4,096 bytes, representing approximately a 3.3x expansion. This modification, made possible by the adoption of the QUIC protocol, enables more complex operations within a single atomic transaction. Developers must use the new v1 transaction format to access this additional capacity. The upgrade could particularly benefit heavy cryptographic operations such as BLS signatures, Winternitz one-time signatures, confidential transfers, and zero-knowledge proof systems.
