He described the likelihood of breaking Bitcoin’s core cryptographic elements as « tiny », with its proof-of-work system having accumulated roughly 2^96 hashes over its lifetime. This position challenges the growing narrative that artificial intelligence could pose an existential risk to Bitcoin, potentially causing a drop of more than 50 % within two years. Bitcoin has never experienced a successful 51 % attack, and the crypto community is actively researching post-quantum solutions to address potential vulnerabilities of current cryptographic systems.
