Stanley Druckenmiller’s family office, Duquesne Family Office, invested $125.6 million in Bitcoin mining stocks last quarter, according to a Form 13F filed on August 14. The four positions are Bitdeer Technologies ($64.7 million), Hut 8 ($36.3 million), Riot Platforms ($20.7 million), and IREN ($4 million), representing roughly 2.4% of a $5.21 billion portfolio. To fund this purchase, Druckenmiller sold his stakes in major American AI chipmakers including Broadcom, Intel, and Micron Technology. His bet, designed to gain Bitcoin exposure through miners rather than directly, has so far underperformed: all four stocks have fallen between 10% and 25.5% since June 30, posting an unrealized loss of approximately $30.7 million, while Bitcoin climbed 33% over the same period.
