Privy, the wallet infrastructure platform acquired by Stripe, announced on September 1, 2026 that its wallets can now connect directly to the banking system through Bridge, its subsidiary acquired for 1.1 billion dollars in 2024. Developers can move funds between bank accounts and crypto wallets with a single API call, thanks to automatic conversion to stablecoins. The integration covers ACH and wire transfers in the United States, Faster Payments in the United Kingdom, SEPA in Europe and PIX in Brazil, as well as the blockchains Ethereum, Base, Solana, Arbitrum, Optimism and Polygon. Bridge obtained approval in February 2026 to become a national fiduciary bank in the United States, strengthening the regulatory compliance of the offering. This announcement is part of Stripe’s strategy to reduce friction between traditional finance and crypto, a stablecoin market that exceeds 183 billion dollars for Tether alone.
