NuScale Power taps AI to speed up small modular reactor design after going public via SPAC

NuScale Power, the only small modular reactor designer certified by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, has partnered with Nuclearn and Nuclear Promise X to develop nuclear-specific AI tools. These tools, built on Nuclearn’s AtomAssist platform, reduce the time engineers spend retrieving critical information by 80%. The company’s 77 MWe Power Modules are designed for factory-built deployment, with VOYGR installations capable of scaling to 924 MWe. NuScale went public via SPAC in 2022 and trades on the NYSE under the ticker SMR. The announcement comes as electricity demand surges from AI data centers, with hyperscalers increasingly turning to nuclear as a reliable, carbon-free power source.
