Gen Zers quit their jobs to start a pickle company—now it’s valued at $8.5 million

Leah Marcus, 26, and Yasaman Bakhitar, 27, both graduates of the University of Southern California in 2022, quit their jobs to found Good Girl Snacks and launch Hot Girl Pickles, a pickle brand targeting Gen Z consumers. The company raised $3 million in a seed funding round in March and is now valued at $8.5 million. A viral TikTok post by influencer Alix Earle generated hundreds of orders on their Shopify store within days. The pickles are now sold online and in stores including Whole Foods and Erewhon. Between February 2025 and February 2026, pickle-flavored snacks generated $518 million in sales, up nearly 40% year over year.
