Alex Gerko, the Russian-British mathematician who founded algorithmic trading firm XTX Markets, received a record £895 million dividend payout from his London-based firm in 2025. The company posted revenues of £3.93 billion, a 44% jump, and after-tax profits of £1.71 billion, up 33%. Gerko, who owns approximately 75% of the 250-person firm, surpassed his own previous record of £682 million in 2024 by over £200 million. The firm also contributed roughly £580 million in UK corporation tax, making it one of the country’s largest corporate taxpayers.
