Tesla has deployed an empty Cybercab on a public street in Austin, Texas. This purpose-built two-seat autonomous vehicle has no traditional driving controls such as a steering wheel or pedals. Tesla’s robotaxi service area in Austin now covers 245 square miles, with the company claiming 380,000 unsupervised miles driven without notable incidents. A Cybercab launch event is scheduled for September 3, 2026 in Austin.
