Andreessen Horowitz has raised $1.1 billion for a new fund called the « Machine Age » fund, dedicated exclusively to AI hardware components. The fund, which closed on August 28, targets the full AI hardware stack, including chips, memory, data centers, networking equipment, and robotics. Data center rack power demand is projected to surge from 5-10 kW to between 100-250 kW, with some estimates reaching up to 1 MW per rack. The fund’s existing portfolio includes investments in companies such as Skydio, Volta, and Mind Robotics. Andreessen Horowitz has also allocated an additional $1.7 billion for AI infrastructure investments in 2026.
