South Korea has launched the « AI for All » initiative to provide free, unlimited AI chatbot access to all 52 million of its citizens. The government selected three consortia led by SK Telecom, KT, and Kakao to operate the service, backed by 512 Nvidia B200 GPUs supplied by the state. The service will remain free through at least 2028 with government funding, and at least 50 percent of the AI models must be domestically developed. South Korea also amended its AI Basic Act to formally recognize AI access as a fundamental right, and a public service AI agent will help citizens identify and apply for government benefits they qualify for.
