Elon Musk Praises New SpaceX and NVIDIA Partnership, Yet Both Stocks Fall

Share

Elon Musk announced on Monday a partnership between SpaceX and NVIDIA, confirming the deployment of the new Vera processor in orbital infrastructure as early as 2027 to accelerate artificial intelligence workloads. Despite his enthusiasm, NVIDIA shares fell 2.91% to $208.48 and SpaceX shares declined 1.44% to $135, slipping further to $134.70 in after-hours trading. These declines are attributed more to broader market pressures than the announcement itself: NVIDIA is set to report earnings on August 26 and SpaceX remains in post-IPO volatility, with shares falling from a June peak of $225.64 to an all-time low of $104.83 in early August. Musk’s public endorsement was not enough to offset investor concerns over memory costs and export restrictions uncertainty in China.
