Przemyslaw Kral, head of the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto, has been charged with participating in an alleged large-scale fraud and is cooperating with Polish prosecutors. He has been negotiating a plea deal for six months in exchange for testimony that could reveal Zondacrypto’s funding of right-wing politicians. Customer losses are estimated at at least 2.4 billion Polish zlotys ($650 million). According to investigators, the exchange used only part of customer funds to buy crypto, while the rest was transferred to private accounts controlled by its managers. Zondacrypto notably served as the main sponsor of CPAC held in Poland ahead of the presidential election runoff.
