Fortune 500 companies got billions in tariff refunds. Here’s who’s giving customers a cut—and who isn’t

After the Supreme Court ruled that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act did not authorize tariff impositions, Fortune 500 companies have received billions in refunds out of the $166 billion originally collected. Amazon received approximately $640 million, Target nearly $1 billion, and FedEx around $800 million, with FedEx committing to return these funds to its customers. Several other giants including Target, Walmart, Nike and Tesla are either refusing to pass refunds to consumers or remain silent on their intentions. The total certified refunds amount to $100 billion including interest, and legal proceedings against the Trump administration are underway at several companies including Ford, General Motors and Costco.
