Maya Protocol suspended all operations after an attacker chained together six software vulnerabilities to drain approximately $1.7 million in Bitcoin and other assets. The protocol’s native token, CACAO, collapsed 88.7% in a single day, falling from approximately $0.115 to $0.013 before a partial recovery. The attacker inflated a liquidity pool’s recorded balance to generate 49 million CACAO tokens, which were converted into roughly 20.83 BTC worth $1.34 to $1.4 million. Direct losses totaled approximately $1.7 million, but broader damage to liquidity pools and market reaction pushed total estimated losses to $11 million.
