PayPal enables tuition payments via Venmo at US colleges

PayPal has launched a feature allowing students and families to pay tuition and university fees through PayPal and Venmo at several US institutions. The service is built on partnerships with three major education payment processors: Illumia, Nelnet Campus Commerce, and TouchNet, which provide the backend infrastructure for hundreds of universities. Michigan State University and Bellarmine University are among the schools where the feature is already operational. This move follows PayPal’s multi-year agreements with the Big Ten and Big 12 athletic conferences. A broader expansion is planned, depending on how quickly the three processor partners can enable PayPal and Venmo options across their existing university client bases.
