Bitcoin ETF calls surge 24-fold as puts fall 52.75%, reaching 1.95M IBIT underlying shares

UBS Group’s August 13 regulatory filing showed that shares underlying its reported call options on BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) increased from 80,000 at March 31 to 1.95 million at June 30, a 2,337.5% increase. The put line declined 52.75% from 303,300 to 143,300 underlying shares during the same period. Non-option IBIT holdings rose 11.94% to 407,890 shares. The filing assigned $64.9 million of underlying market value to the call row and $4.8 million to the put row. The disclosure does not identify account beneficiaries or clarify whether the positions served hedging, market making, or directional trading purposes.
