U.S. inflation cooled slightly in July, boosting expectations that the Fed will hold rates in September and allowing the S&P 500 to break a losing streak. Chipmaker Cerebras reported revenue below expectations in the second quarter despite raising full-year guidance, sending shares down 15%. Shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz fell to three-month lows amid U.S.-Iran tensions.
